Leadership is not a position description. It is about you as a human being, and how you carry the responsibility for others in your care.

Executive / Leadership Coaching

It is about much more than what you know or say. It’s about the actions you take and how you show up with others and for yourself.
In its essence, leadership is a way of being in the world and leaving a place better than you found it.
In a formal leadership position, it can be difficult at times to get meaningful feedback that helps you increase self-awareness, identify blind spots or create an inspirational vision for yourself.

I work with leaders at all stages of the journey to

  • (re-)connect with and sharpen your purpose

  • uncover hidden dynamics, both inside yourself and in the wider team or system you are operating in)

  • increase leadership presence

  • manage conflict, either inside yourself or with other people

  • protect your wellbeing and drive your own growth and development

  • become the leader you want to be.

Guided by a mix of formal and informal approaches, using experiential techniques, and by tapping into different modes of knowing (intellectual, emotional and embodied ), we will explore options and opportunities to discover new ways of being, thinking and leading.

Questions for you

I invite you to reflect for a moment on the following questions:
  • Do you believe that you can demonstrate vulnerability and compassion - and still be seen as  strong and reliable leader?

  • How do you think your team members would describe your leadership style, and what would they name as your most valuable strength and your biggest blind spot?

  • What are you adding or offering to your team and organisation that is unique to you?

  • Do you have the confidence to be humble, and are you willing to step back so that others can move forward?

  • If you started to see your personal energy as the most important resource you have, how would you better protect it?

  • What is your biggest challenge as a leader at the moment, and does this reflect an ongoing pattern or a unique issue?

  • In relation to the last question, what else might be going on that you are not aware of?

Systemic lens

I also bring a system lens to my work, fully acknowledging that nobody lives and works in a vacuum. We each belong to many social systems, e.g. our families, teams, friendship circles, professional bodies and organisations, which shape the way we think, decide and act.

In our work together, we take a wider perspective to understand how these systems have influenced your identity, and the role you are playing in each. Whether we are aware of system dynamics or not, they are powerful forces that can undermine success, cause ongoing conflict, and keep people stuck in unsatisfying roles and relationships . Systemic coaching explores the part in the whole, and the whole in the pars, and aims to unlock the potential and performance of both.
